Löylykontti Oy

The autumn wind carried a salty tang from the nearby sea as I made my way to the Löylykontti sauna in Vantaa. I had booked a slot online for 29 euros, and the confirmation email came with a door code. Punching it in, I stepped inside the compact container, greeted by the faint scent of wood and steam.
The space felt simple and private, just right for one person or a small group. I hung my coat and prepared for the heat. No crowds here, which suited me after a long day in the city.
Outside, the panoramic window framed the water, calm under the gray sky. I could see why they placed it here in the Helsinki region, blending city edges with natural views.
Building the Heat
I settled on the wooden bench and let the sauna warm up. The heat built steadily, wrapping around me like a blanket. It was a straightforward setup, with everything I needed close at hand.
After about twenty minutes, sweat beaded on my skin. I stepped out for a quick shower to rinse off. The session was set for sixty minutes, plenty of time to cycle through heat and cool.
Back inside, I added a bit more water to the stones. Steam rose, filling the air with that clean, invigorating mist. Through the window, the sea horizon stretched out, dotted with distant islands. It made the warmth feel even more inviting against the cool view.
The Cold Plunge
When the heat peaked, I wrapped a towel around me and headed outside. The path led straight to the sea access, where cold water waited. I eased in, the chill biting at first but then refreshing.
Submerged up to my shoulders, I floated for a moment, gazing at the nature around. Birds skimmed the surface, and the city noise felt far away. This spot in Vantaa mixed urban convenience with wild dips perfectly.
Back in the sauna, the contrast sharpened everything. My muscles relaxed deeper, and my mind cleared. I repeated the cycle once more before time ran out.
As I dressed and locked up, the sun dipped low, painting the water in soft colors. Walking away, I felt lighter, ready for whatever came next.
