Wellness-Saunagus

The salt air from the Øresund carried a chill as I parked in the free lot near Strandvejen. Charlottenlund felt quiet that Tuesday afternoon, with the coastal path winding past old villas and patches of green. I had booked a saunagus session at Wellness-Saunagus, drawn by the promise of heat and sea views.

Inside the changing rooms, I slipped into a towel and headed to the sauna in Charlottenlund Strandpark. The setup used the TwinSpirits sauna, a solid space with room for a small group. I settled on the wooden bench, ready for the 90-minute ritual.

The heat started gentle, building as the gus master worked. Steam rose with each wave of the towel, pulling sweat from my skin. I paid 245 DKK for the session, which ran most days from Tuesday through Sunday.

Midway through, we stepped out for a break. The door opened to a direct view of the Øresund, the water stretching blue toward Sweden. A light breeze cooled my heated skin as I stood there, taking it in.

Back inside, the gus continued with more intensity. The air grew thick, and I focused on my breath. That view lingered in my mind, mixing the indoor warmth with the open sea outside.

After a few rounds, the session pushed us toward the havdyp. I walked down to the water's edge, the pebbles crunching underfoot. The dip felt sharp and refreshing against the sauna's heat.

The sea water hit cold, but it woke me up. I floated for a moment, watching boats in the distance. Charlottenlund's shore here in Skovshoved had that calm suburban feel, with trees lining the park and the strait always in sight.

Returning to the sauna, I warmed up again before wrapping up. The facilities included toilets nearby, simple but clean. I changed back in the omklædning area, feeling relaxed from the rhythm of heat and cold.

As I left, the sun dipped lower over the water. The session had blended the gus with that coastal setting in a way that stuck with me. Driving out, I noted the free parking made it easy to linger.
